The 2025 Window World 250 at historic North Wilkesboro Speedway lived up to the hype, delivering a chaotic finish that allowed Chandler Smith to earn his second win of the season and seventh career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory.
Smith, driving the No. 38 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports, worked his way through the field after starting deep in the pack. With tires that were 60 laps fresher than race leader Corey Heim’s, Smith closed the gap in the final run, but it wasn’t until NASCAR Overtime that the tide turned.
The pivotal moment came when teammate Layne Riggs made a bold move on Heim in Turn 1, attempting a slide job for the lead. Riggs’ move pushed Heim up the track, causing both trucks to lose momentum. That opened the door for Chandler Smith, who charged to the inside and slipped by both, taking the lead just as Heim spun off the corner. The incident collected Rajah Caruth and triggered the final caution, ending the race under yellow.
Smith reflected post-race:
“We fought and clawed today. Had to start in the back, and I feel like this place, tires kind of matter, but also kind of didn’t. Coming from the back to mid-pack twice says a lot about how good this Ford F-150 was today.”
