Keelan wins "Battle of the Harvicks" at Kern


Keelan Harvick made headlines on May 31, 2025, by securing a victory in the CARS Tour West Pro Late Model race at Kern Raceway, triumphing over his father, NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick, in a historic father-son showdown.


The event, dubbed the "Battle of the Harvicks," was held at Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California, a track owned by Kevin Harvick himself. This marked the first time the father son duo competed against each other, adding a layer of personal significance to the race. Keelan, at just 12 years old, showcased remarkable skill and composure, ultimately taking the checkered flag ahead of his father.


The race was part of the Mission Bank 250, featuring twin 75 lap features in the Spears CARS Tour West Pro Late Model Series. Both Harvicks competed in the main event, with Keelan driving the No. 62 Hunt Brothers Pizza machine and Kevin piloting the No. 29 late model.
