Formula Drift Round 2: Thrills and Smoke at Road Atlanta

The 2025 Formula Drift season continued its high-octane journey at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta from May 8 to May 10. This event marked the second round of the PRO Championship and the first round of the Link ECU PROSPEC Championship. In collaboration with GRIDLIFE, the event offered fans a weekend filled with intense drifting battles and electrifying performances.

🔥 PRO Championship Highlights


The PRO Championship saw seasoned drivers pushing their limits on the challenging Road Atlanta course. While the official results are yet to be released, the seeding bracket battles set the stage for an exciting competition. Austin Matta emerged victorious in the Type S PRO Seeding Bracket after a challenging battle with Connor O'Sullivan. Both drivers had to call a Competition Time Out due to a collision during their initial run. Ultimately, Matta secured the win on a split decision by the judges after their second run.

🏁 PROSPEC Championship Round 1


In the Link ECU PROSPEC Championship, Cory Talaska clinched victory in Round 1, showcasing his skill and precision on the track. The competition was fierce, with Talaska facing Dmitriy Brutskiy in the final battle. After intense runs, Talaska's consistent performance earned him the top spot. Cody Buchanan secured third place, rounding out the podium.

This year's event was unique, as Formula Drift partnered with GRIDLIFE to bring a dynamic mix of drifting and music to the fans. The collaboration added an extra layer of excitement, with live performances and a vibrant atmosphere complementing the on-track action.
